Fans will have to wait until early next year for season 6 of ‘Scandal’

We have to wait a little longer for the new season of the show.

, who plays the role of the president in Scandal, has confirmed that the TV series will make a return in January, 2017.

Goldwyn added that fans will have to wait until then mainly because Kerry Washington, who plays the main character Olivia Pope, is currently pregnant with her second child.

He also revealed that the show’s creator, Shonda Rhimes is thinking of new ways to make the show better, which makes sense considering the show’s viewership in season five was less than the numbers attained in season four.

The new season of ‘Scandal’ forecasts a change in power, and at the moment, it is expected to have 16 episodes which is less than the previous two seasons that had 22 episodes each.

Previous seasons, except the first season which started in April 2012, have begun later in the year, with seasons two, four and five starting in September while season three began in October.
