While the 2016 Calabar carnival is currently ongoing in Cross Rivers state, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has revealed what it has done to ensure 'safety'.

According to reports from Mr. Olamide Onifade, who happens to be the Head of the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, of the UNFPA's 'Wise-up Cross River State' campaign, the organisation was responsible for the distribution of over 53,000 condoms to the carnival's participants.
Mr Onifade disclosed this in a release given to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Calabar, on Sunday.
