Portuguese superstar and the 2016 Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has topped the football rich list after pocketing a whopping sum of £75.6 million in the year 2016.

According to France Football Magazine, Ronaldo's arch rival Lionel Messi came second after earning around £66.1 million.
Gistlite.com understands that Brazilian star and Lionel Messi's teammate at Barcelona Neymar came third on the rich list with £48 million.
The figures that have been calculated take into account gross salaries, bonuses and advertising revenues the players have accumulated over the last 12 months.

Real Madrid star Ronaldo alone has countless deals and business ventures helping him land top spot including ongoing sponsorship with the likes of Nike, Tag Heuer, Sacoor Brothers and Monster headphones.
