Yesterday, October 31, 2016, it was revealed Iyanya signed toDon Jazzy’s record label Mavin Records. What a way to announce his comeback. Honestly, no one was expecting this as the singer had previously shared he would be starting his own record label.

Now everyone can’t stop talking about it and whether or not the ‘Mr Oreo’ crooner made the right move. Alongside the announcement of his signing, Iyanya’s first single under Mavin Records was also released. On the song titled ‘Up 2 something’ he collaborates with the boss himself Don Jazzyand his new label mate Dr Sid.

Iyanya’s music in the past has pretty much been all about partying, love, lust or, selling his sex appeal in catchy tunes. This new song is no ‘Kukere’ or ‘Ur waist’; it’s more serious, about a bigger picture.

Iyanya tells it like it is on this swanky pop song produced by Don Jazzy. The lyrics of the song is not about women, shaking it or any sort of sexual undertone. It draws from the singer’s past and looks towards his future. It’s about working hard, reaping the rewards of this and enjoying life.

Obviously, the Supreme Mavin Dynasty is about to rebrand Iyanya and it’s already clear from this release they’re cooking up a recipe of success for their new artiste.
