How Anthony Joshau becomes first Nigerian billionaire Athlete



The Saturday, April 29, 2017 victory of the British born Nigerian boxer, Anthony Oluwafemi Joshua, has advanced his achievements in the ring and paved away for him to become the first Nigerian-born athlete Billionaire.

The revenue statistics from the historic match showed that, the 27-year-old former Olympic champion, will be earning about £15 million ($30 million) from the fight home, alongside the value of its eleven endorsements from different organizations which were estimated to be accruing to about £5 million ($10 million).
Asides this, there are records that organisers have already sold tickets worth £8 million, which indicated it was a sell-out for the 90,000 capacity Wembley Stadium.

In the same vein, Joshua’s fight on the UK box office cost fans at home £19.99, and over 1.5 Britons were estimated to have watched from home. This is expected to have racked in almost £30m.

How much will the fight earn in pay-per-view revenue?

The heavyweight fight was noted have surpassed the current £1.2 million British PPV best revenue from Ricky Hatton and Floyd Mayweather Jnr's Las Vegas fight in 2007.
The Britons pay £19.99 to watch on pay-per-view, and over £20 million more was generated from international TV revenue - £4m from German RTL TV station and £2m from the US.
